PIPS: Dear Agnes

PIPS is a newly created collaboration between Catherine Magill and Viv Tate which encompasses the co-presentations of their MA – Art in Public Space projects. In Semester One Studio 1, the pair each created a performative response to the Agnes Denes Forest for Australia, with their final presentation being a co-crafted performance. This performance is now being offered as an EOI to the Hobsons City Council Dear Agnes project. This page shares images from Viv and Catherine’s performative practice research, making and testing their responses to the Agnes Denes and Truganina Explosive Reserve sites.

We are thrilled to be presenting our work ‘Agnes and her Forest: An embodied conversation’ as part of the Creative Hobson Bay ‘Dear Agnes’ event. (https://www.hobsonsbay.vic.gov.au/Community/Arts-Culture-Heritage/Arts-Spaces-Places/Public-Art/Dear-Agnes-contemporary-public-art-program).

It’s exciting to be launching our first project in public space. Here’s some photos of our preparations courtesy of photographer Daniel A’Vard.
